A fine and unusual George III period mahogany Hall or Serving Table, having well-figured inverted breakfront canted cornered top with oak leaf & acorn scrolled edge. The Table, having centre drawer panel carved with lion’s head, scrolls, paw feet & snakes flanked by 2 further drawers (possibly adapted). The frieze, carved with acanthus paterae, supported on square back legs with block feet and unique acanthus carved cabriole front legs with eagle heads holding serpents, with outstretched wings, ending on lion’s paw feet.
