A George III period mahogany revolving Library Drum Table of attractive small proportions, having faded green leather gilt tooled boxwood strung crossbanded circular top, above 4 real & 4 dummy drawers raised on elegant gun-barrel stem & reeded 3 splay base ending on original brass box castors.
This is an unusually small Drum Table. Originally it would have been in a Library and it revolved so that the person seated at it had access to the drawers on the other side without having to stand up. Nowadays Drum Tables tend to be used in entrance hallways or sitting rooms where they look very good between sofas.
